My rigg is emotiva xda-1 dac (I'm using it as an preamp) the se-100 mk2 delux monos and a pair of dali ikon8 (mk1) speakers, I'm using vandenhul magnum speaker cables and vandenhul the name signal cables, i have 3 sources, the most used one is spotify via ipad-airportxpress to the dac using noname optical cable, the second most used source is a Project rpm-1 with ortofon 2m red pickup via project tubebox se 2 via littledot mk2 instead of the xda-1 and the third source is a nad c525bee cd player via xda-1 with noname coax cable.
At first I was a bit surprised by the size of the monos, I thought they were bigger, my other amp is a vincent sv-238mk and its pretty huge compared to the two se-100's. I think the size of the amps gave me a little placebo effect in the first hours of listening, i was afraid they did not have enough power, after about one week of listening (40 hours) they proved that I was wrong. For the first time in my life i could agree that size doesent mather, at all. I'm mostly listening to metall and stoner rock, my favorite bands are gojira, the agonist, clutch, lamb of god and dream theater. To make heavy metall sound great the amps have to reproduse a lot of details, the se-100's did this so wery well, they revealed details I havent heard before. The bass is mighty strong, giving my speakers al little extra punch, it feels like my speakers are playing a little deeper then they did before to. The most interesting thing with the amps was that the tweeters got a litle more laydback, my speakers are a little sharp in the top, the se-100's "cured" this. There were not eny greater differences in the mids. Overall the Monarchy SE-100MK2 Delux sounds detailed and is very comfortable sounding amplifiers. Comparing them to Vincent Sv-238mk might be misleading because of the difference in build and the fact that sv-238mk is a integrated 2ch amp and the pre inbuilt might sound different then the xda and the littledot pre's.
Best regards, Stian S.

Hi Mr Poon Thanks for the great amps.(SE100 Mark 2) Perhaps you may be interested in what I wrote in the advertisement to sell away the old SE100. The response was overwhelming and it got a few people interested in the Monarchy brand amps. I sold the SE100 within one hour after I advertised it at 11.30pm. You may be receiving some enquiries from Singapore. Here's what I wrote in the ad: ---------------------------------------------- Monarchy SE-100 Delux: Class-A Monoblock Amplifiers Built like a tank - fully made in USA. Pristine condition (9/10) Every once in a while a gem in the audiophile world is discovered. I discovered such a gem 10 years ago. Hi, I am the happy, proud and highly satisfied owner of the Monarchy SE-100. Ever since I brought these amps 10 years ago, it has served me beautiful music with my Maggie 1.6. Being built like a tank, there is not a single breakdown all these years. These amps has been compared with the PassLabs and other renowned names. We all like an underdog that can give the big boys a fright, the SE-100 is one such amp. I can go on praising it but I think it would be better if you read it yourself. Below is the link to the reviews/testimony of 33 happy and highly satisfied owners. They gave these amps an overall score of 4.85 out of 5 . Compared with other amps, I think the high score from the extremely large base of reviewers is quite remarkable: www.audioreview.com/cat/amplification/amplifiers/monarchy-audio/se-100-deluxe/prd_115973_1583crx.aspx In addition, here are the links to expert reviewers from various audiophile sites: www.soundstage.com/revequip/monarchy_se100delux_followup.htm www.stereotimes.com/amp092502.shtmlwww.hometheaterhifi.com/volume_11_1/monarchy-se-100-se-160-amplifiers-3-2004.html The cost of an equiment does not necessary reflect its worth. Sadly, many expensive gears are worth much less than their cost. Don't get me wrong, they are good indeed but just not worth that much. However, Monarchy Audio has remained faithful to their motto even in this fast changing world; "High end at low cost". After 15 long years, Monarchy Audio has finally came out with the Mark 2 which they believed is a worthy upgrade of the SE100. I am upgrading to the Mk2 and am willing to part with these remarkable amps for a mere $850.00 Please sms me at ... if you are keen on these gems. ----------------------------- Regards Leong

Hello fellow audio freaks! I'v just taken delivery of a pair of se100's to replace my sm70's and they are absolutly fantastic .Mutch cleaner sounding than the70's with deeper bass . Fed from a musical fidelity A308 pre amp into monitor audio GX300 speakers no other amp I have heard can get near these little gems for sheer sound quality. just on a side note I took the sm70's round to a freinds to try them in his system. replacing his quad valve amps with my monarchy's was quite interesting. I think the american term is ;the quads got ther asses handed to them!; .se100's are the audio bargain of the century!

Congrats on the new amps . Great choice. The SE100 is clearly a step up over the SM70. I have listened to both amps before and the SE100 has deeper, tighter and better controlled bass and cleaner sound. However, I think the SE100 is a tad brighter than my SM70Pro but a bit more detailed while the SM70Pro sounds sweeter. Anyway, both of the SM70 and SE100 are great amps and a bargain. Enjoy your new amps

Thanks Mr. Poon.
I am totally delighted with the monoblock deluxe 100. By the way that high res disc you gave me is a jaw dropper on my Quad 63 electrostatics with these amps. Switched interconnects to Harmonic Technology True Copper and placed amps at speakers, connected to them with very short lengths of that yellow Teflon cable you gave me. Works wonderfully. Have recommended your equipment to several audiophiles. Best regards, Joel

Thanks for sharing, Mr. Poon. The amps (and the rest of your equipment that I purchased-NM24 and DIP Combo and Regenerator) are terrific. The soundstage does not bloom as much as when using tube amps (in my 16 x 14 audio den), but the detailed and accurate full frequency range is terrific. My Quad 63 electrostatics really want tubes to drive them as they are voltage, not current sensitive. However the detail trumps the depth, and with your equipment in smallish rooms the depth is adequate. No amps anywhere near the price of yours can create the wonderful reality of the performance - mostly classical music in my case. The speakers don't do well on modern thumping stuff, but I'll bet your amps would be superb for all types of rock, reggae, etc. with conventional dynamic speakers as I heard when I visited your shop.
Delighted to hear Steve S. purchased the same package that I have, less the regenerator. He is driving the new Sonus Faber Ventera (sp?) 3 way speakers and he tells me they sound great. I believe he is having some difficulty with the NM24 not having enough control flexibility at low volume levels. His speakers are about 89db sensitivity and he operates at or below 9 o'clock on the volume control (your new upgrade was included in his package). My system has a similar problem but because the Quads are less sensitive (about 82-84db) I can get by. He may ask you for a workaround to reduce the NM24 output level.
In any event, you have a couple of very happy clients. Warmest regards, Joel B.

C.C., The amps sound fabulous. In just several days they have opened up to reveal astonishing performance. Going to run them for another day or two and assuming everything works as we expect I'll send a check on Wednesday morning. A bit surprising how noisy the XLR input is compared to the RCA input. Didn't expect that. Additionally, at first, the soundstage was so small compared to the BAT VK-60 monoblocks (120 watts, Class A) which the 100's replaced. But this morning the soundstage began to bloom and I sat transfixed at the sound. I was actually laughing at these diminutive upstarts. To be honest, C.C., I didn't really want to like these amps. I really wanted the Pass Labs XA100.5 monoblocks. But in comparing these amps against the Pass Labs Aleph 2's which I've been using since getting these amps, they are so good I just can't rationalize spending more $$ for the Pass products. And I wanted to. That means, again, I'm bowing to your genius and I don't use that word but rarely. But when a $1,000 product so challenges a $5,000 product and, in some instances, actually seems to out-perform the product, well, .... And to top it off, you're about the kindest and most patient proprietor of high-end products I've ever dealt with. And I've been in this hobby for 40 years and count several high end vendors as clients. It's always the same with you. My wife adores you and pushed me hard to be honest about these products. It takes courage to admit to people that, yes, I'm using the Monarchy Audio hardware (because, you know, it can't be serious high-end given its price). But then when you inquire of the doubter about when they last listened to the SM-100 MK.II, turns out they haven't listened. Strangely, they still have an opinion. They just "know" that at the asking price, well, it can't be competitive with the higher priced gear. Whatever. I know what I hear and I like it, a lot. Feel free to put this commentary in the user comments section should you so desire. As ever, Rob Cherry
PS - Just purchased a PS Audio Premier AC regenerator for these units. It can output up to 1500 watts so we should be OK.

Hi Mr. Poon, I got the 100 MK2's, and thank you for the spare things. One cool thing is that the 100 MK2's are awesome! I think they need some more time to mature, but they bring me much more details full of the stage. This carries the emotion of singer out to me, and of course, the lower frequency and bass are better than they were. Wonderful!!! Vincent

I have both the 70 pro and 100se mk2 and I do not any reservations wit regards to the amps prowess but the 70pro really needs a balance preamp to bring out the best out of them. If you want more power for abigger room then probably the bigger brother is a better bett I am buying my second pair of the 100mk2 to bi-amp my speakers which will be easy enough as my room is too big for the amps at the moment. The amps are superb value for moneyRoy
